Camp Mountain Chai is the realization of a dream to create a summer community for
Jewish children and teens in the San Diego-Southern California area and beyond. In its
first few years of operation, CMC has served thousands of Jewish children and we now seek
to improve their Jewish summer experience with a capital campaign to upgrade our facilities
and continue to offer our generous summer camp scholarships. The camp is an IRS designated
501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and all donations and support are tax deductible to the
full extent of the law.

Our Mission...
The Camp Mountain Chai mission is to expand and enrich Jewish identity by establishing an atmosphere of knowledge
and love for Jewish culture, religion and traditions. Through arts, outdoor adventure, aquatics and sports, campers
build lifelong friendships, independence and self-worth.

Camp Mountain Chai's philosophy is rooted in Jewish values and is committed to the ongoing vibrancy of the Jewish
community. Our pluralistic, inclusive approach reaches out to all campers with respect and understanding.

We strive to involve and engage children in programs that foster positive Jewish identity, self confidence and
personal growth, and a pride in being Jewish. We aim to contribute to the continuity of a committed Jewish
community for generations to come.
At Camp Mountain Chai, we build Jewish community. Campers from across San Diego County and beyond develop
relationships amongst themselves and with the staff. These relationships are an integral part of the Camp
Mountain Chai experience of fun-filled activities incorporating Jewish rituals, dance, songs and Israel.
For some campers, Mountain Chai is their only Jewish experience; for others, it is a reinforcement of
their ongoing commitment to Judaism.
